A Psalms Overview: a Bit of the Book

In this “A Bit of the Book,” I’ve got a Psalms overview for you. Our goal is to be able to read the Psalms in a way that helps us receive from them what they’re communicating. This can mean a lot of things, but a solid framework helps.

Like any good Psalms overview should, we get to talk about the genre of the Psalms, and why it matters. I correct a few common misconceptions, and I muse just a teenie tiny bit about poetry and the fact that most people don’t love it.

You will walk away with more information, more shape, and a better foundation for connecting through this practically versatile, unique, and beloved book of the Bible (even if it is mostly poetry).
